Smith EMBA Admissions

One third of our EMBA students receive
full or partial tuition assistance from
their employers. Others are either
self-funded or seek scholarship or
financial aid assistance.
Financial aid assistance is available through the
University of Maryland
Office
of Financial Aid. EMBA students
are eligible to borrow up to $20,500 in
federally subsidized and unsubsidized
Stafford loans each academic year.
Grad Plus loans are also available from
private lenders. For more

Scholarship
Smith offers partial tuition
scholarships to the school's executive
MBA (EMBA) program at College Park.
These scholarships are merit-based and
specifically designed to help executives
from underrepresented industry areas -
including the government and non-profit
sectors - in attaining their career and
leadership goals. While executives
from all industries are encouraged to
apply for scholarships, Smith has
specifically identified the following
underrepresented industry areas.
- Smith Federal Government EMBA Scholarship
- for managers and directors currently
employed within a federal government
agency
- Smith State/local Government EMBA
Scholarship - for managers and directors
current employed within a state or local
government agency
- Smith Non-profit EMBA Scholarship
- for managers and directors that occupy
a senior leadership position within
a non-profit agency or association
- Smith Entrepreneurship EMBA Scholarship
- for self-employed entrepreneurs running
their own business or professional practice
Scholarship applications will be accepted
on a rolling basis until September 1, 2008 for the class beginning
in November 2008. Scholarship
applications will be evaluated in cycles
with the following scholarship
application deadlines: March 1,
June 1 and September 1. Awards
will be announced two weeks following
each application deadline. Applicants will be
judged on merit and an essay. The
general application for admission to the EMBA
program along with all support materials
must be submitted prior to consideration
for scholarship assistance.
