Sharon Hormby is adjunct faculty in the MBA Program teaching Pricing and Revenue Management. She is a Senior Director
in Marriott International’s Global Revenue Management department at the company’s headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland.
A pioneer in the field of Revenue Management, she worked in the airline industry introducing revenue management systems
to airlines such as Iceland Air and US Airways. At Marriott, she leads a team that implements revenue management systems,
strategies and processes across the globe. Recent innovations include a system that recommends pricing for group and
convention business, linking the sales and revenue management disciplines. This work was published in Interfaces. Her
team has been recognized as a finalist for the INFORMS Edelman Award, CIO Magazine’s CIO 100 and as a winner of the INFORMS
Pricing & Revenue Management practice award.
