Guodong "Gordon" Gao is an
assistant professor in the Decision,
Operations
and Information Technologies
Department at the Robert H. Smith School
of Business at the University of
Maryland. His research interests
include Business Value of
Information Technology (with a focus
on product variety), IT-enabled
organizational changes, online
reviews, and industrial
organization.
He has papers accepted by ICIS (2003, 2004), Workshop on Information Systems
and Economics (2004), Informs (2004), and HICSS (2006). His research has won
several grants and the 1st Runner-up for Best Paper Award in ICIS 2004.
He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering and B.A. in Economics from
Tsinghua University in 1998, his M.B.A. from the Tsinghua-MIT Sloan Joint
Program in 2000, and PhD degree in Operations and Information Management from
the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania in 2005.
