Barney Corwin

Ph.D., Computer and Information Systems, University of Pennsylvania

Barney Corwin teaches undergraduate and graduate courses concerning Project Management, Information Systems, the Management of Information Systems, and Healthcare Information Systems. Before joining the Smith School, he was Chief Information Officer for the Department of Health in the Government of the District of Columbia.

He has served as a information systems manager and executive for Freddie Mac, Primerica, and Merrill Lynch. He has taught at the University of Pennsylvania Moore School of Electrical Engineering and Loyola College in Baltimore Maryland. He has been a guest lecturer at MIT and American University. His professional interests include: the transformation of health care delivery and outcomes through the application of information technology; the application of project management methods, mindset, and techniques to business and organizational opportunities and problems; and the innovative use of information systems in businesses and organizations.
