The Master of Science in Business: Information Systems (MSIS)
Program at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of
Maryland is recruiting students now for Fall 2012 admission. This
program prepares students to lead in the ongoing technology revolution.
Throughout the curriculum, the emphasis is maximizing the strategic and
tactical value of IT to gain competitive advantage.
The MSIS Program is offered through the Decision, Operations, and
Information Technologies (DO&IT) Department in the Smith School of
Business at the University of Maryland. The curriculum is taught by
DO&IT’s world renown faculty—acknowledged thought leaders in Web 2.0
technologies, electronic markets, database management, project
management, transformational and disruptive technologies, and the impact
and management of technology in organizations. See the faculty
information at the DO&IT website at:

The Smith School’s strengths in both research and practice are
reflected in its rankings and other accolades. The Smith School and the
DO&IT Department was recently ranked as one of the top ten tech-centric
programs in the US by CIO Magazine. U.S. News and World Report
ranks the Smith School as having the fifth best program in management
information systems. The Wall Street Journal
ranks Smith's information technology program #6. In addition, the
school’s full-time, part-time and executive MBA programs are all ranked
among the nation’s best.
Just as important, it all takes place in one of the strongest IT
regions in the world at the University of Maryland’s College Park
campus, several miles away from Washington, D.C, a choice, sophisticated
area in which to learn, work and network in the IS profession.
The program can be completed in one year of full-time study but can
be extended up to two years. Curriculum details, admission requirements
and FAQs are available by clicking on the corresponding tabs on the
