Dingman Jumpstart
Jumpstart is an intensive 5-day bootcamp where teams of University of Maryland
students and alumni will take a deep dive into building and refining their business
model. Hands-on workshops and interactive advising sessions led by successful entrepreneurs,
business executives, faculty and investors. If you have business idea the Dingman
Center wants you to end your summer by starting your business!

Who should participate?
- UMD students or alumni teams (1-5 people) with an idea for a startup in early
stage of development
- Open minded entrepreneurs willing to thoroughly vet ideas and explore various
business models
- Startups interested in EnTERPreneur Academy
Why participate?
- Learn and apply the principles of the lean startup methodology
- Refine your business idea using the Business Model Canvas
- Receive advising from experienced entrepreneurs who provide feedback and actionable
next steps
- Participate in interactive panel discussions with expert and young entrepreneurs
- Attend workshops on business model patterns, market research, blue ocean strategy,
customer discovery and more
- Leave with a clear path to grow your business
- Following program completion, apply to the Dingman Center’s EnTERPreneur Academy
where you can have access to a wide variety of workshops and the option to compete
in Pitch Dingman Competitions held throughout the school year.
