Matt Fleischer Bio

Matt Fleischer was born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area and completed his undergraduate education at Mary Washington College. In 1999, Matt moved to San Francisco, California and started a microbrewery, Hook & Ladder Brewing Company, with his brother. Matt managed operations as Executive Vice President. Hook & Ladder won a Gold Medal at the Great American Beer Festival in 2001 and secured distribution in several states across the country. Matt graduated from Robert H. Smtih School of Business with an MBA in 2005 where he was a a Scholar at the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship, a New Markets Growth Fund Associate, and President of the Entrepreneurship Club. Currently, Matt is President & CEO of Hook & Ladder Brewing Company based in Silver Spring, MD. Hook & Ladder was founded by a firefighter and donates part of its proceeds to local area burn foundations that help in the prevention and treatment for burn victims. Hook & Ladder beers are available on draft in bars and restaurants throughout the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
