Maryland Undergraduate Society of Entrepreneurs (MUSE)

Mission Statement

MUSE was established with the expressed purpose of increasing awareness of and providing opportunities for undergraduate entrepreneurship. Our ultimate goal is to educate students about entrepreneurship, bring a method to the madness through experienced speakers and educational seminars, build a community of critically thinking entrepreneurs, and to have a great time doing it.

If students are interested in taking a step into entrepreneurship, we will help them gain real-world entrepreneurship experience within a safe academic environment. Undergraduate students of all majors are encouraged to come to our meetings. MUSE is linked to the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship in the Robert H. Smith School of Business.

About MUSE

The Maryland Undergraduate Society of Entrepreneurs (MUSE) was founded spring 2004. Founded by Josh Norris and Ori Zohar, MUSE is aimed to give students an opportunity to develop and start, run and expand their own businesses.

MUSE is sponsored by the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship and is designed for students to showcase their business ideas and network with other students from different areas of study. Along with student to student interaction MUSE will host guest speakers, enter business plan contests, and hold workshops by regional entrepreneurs.

MUSE sponsors social events for young aspiring entrepreneurs to network, hosts guest speakers to learn from successful entrepreneurs in various fields, and sponsors workshops on what you need to know, from legal to financial to marketing advice, on how to run a small business. Several times a year MUSE also has MUSE Marketplace days, where student entrepreneurs can set up tables inside Van Munching Hall and sell their products, with a portion of revenues going back to the club to fund events.
