Students: Graduation Day

Smith Commencement Ceremony

Arrival

No tickets are required for guests at the Smith School Ceremony. Graduates participating in the Smith School’s Ceremony should report to the Pavilion (auxiliary gymnasium) of the Comcast Center (Room 0601) for the line up.

During the ceremony we ask that all graduates and guests remain seated throughout the entire ceremony in order to provide full recognition to all graduates. Upon arrival, graduates should obtain their announcement card from the information table in the Auxiliary Gym. After obtaining your card, find the area labeled with your major and get in line. As the procession begins, please stay in single file order so that you may be seated correctly. At the appropriate time, marshals will lead the graduates to the platform one row at a time to receive their graduation scrolls. You will hand your card to the person at the microphone, walk to a Dean to shake hands and proceed to the table to shake hands with your Chairperson as you receive your scroll. Your diploma will be mailed to you following official clearances for graduation.

We ask that you stay for the entire ceremony as not to disturb the students, families, and other guests.
