Student Programs

Foreign Language Instruction at the Smith School

The Smith CIBER is introducing a foreign language training program for undergraduate and graduate students in 2008-09. In our first year of non-credit language training, we will be offering a 10-week course in Basic Mandarin at the Smith School in fall and Intermediate Mandarin in spring. Other less-commonly-taught languages will be added as the demand for language instruction develops.

The cost of participation in the language classes will be heavily subsidized by CIBER. And, one/two more languages may be added depending on student interest.
