New Course
BMGT 392: Introduction to
International Business and
Management
Robert H. Smith School of Business
Ronald Reagan Building, Concourse
Level
Washington, D.C.
May 27-31, 2008
The Smith School CIBER will again
be offering BMGT 392 in an
innovative boot camp
format in May 2008. This
three-credit course will have
classes in the mornings in the Smith
School suite in the Reagan Building,
Washington, D.C., and visits to
international organization in the
afternoons.
The course is about the
challenges and excitement of doing
business internationally, and will
have both classroom and experiential
learning activities (in addition to
pre-work and post-work). With the
overseas activities of corporations
accounting for almost $20 trillion
in annual revenues, they constitute
a significant and increasing
component of the world economy and
our daily lives. Therefore, more and
more organizations now require
international understanding and
cross-cultural sensitivity of their
employees and managers.
Eligibility
The course is open to
juniors/seniors from throughout the
University of Maryland College Park
campus with 60 or more credits;
registration through TESTUDO.
Pre-work: Students
interested in taking the course
should purchase and read as much of
the textbook as soon as possible
before the start of the course
on May 27, especially Chapters 1-8.
