Smith CIBER Sends MBA Students to Uruguay

The Uruguay Program was organized in collaboration with the Uruguayan Embassy and two partner universities – ORT University and Universidad de Montevideo. Three teams of 3 first year MBA students each worked together with Uruguayan MBA students on the consulting projects.

One group advised the country’s leading dairy cooperative on restructuring its finances, another advised the wine association of Uruguay on ways to increase their exports to the U.S., and a third worked with the Uruguayan Free Trade Zone on how to position Uruguay as a logistics services platform for non-traditional U.S. export companies to enter the Mercosur market.

Working throughout the spring semester, Smith students worked with their Uruguayan counterparts on a final deliverable, and presented their finds virtually to their clients.
