Research Council

The CHIDS Research Council is an eminent group of researchers who provide guidance for CHIDS’ research and projects. The Research Council will assess CHIDS’ research portfolio, and set new directions based on industry trends and scientific developments. The Council will be responsible for providing advice to the director concerning the quality and adequacy of research activities and research projects. It will actively craft and influence CHIDS’ research agenda.

In their efforts to strengthen the CHIDS research portfolio, members of the Research Council may lead new research initiatives. They will represent the director and can engage in discussions with CHIDS stakeholders and research partners. Further, the Research Council establishes the criteria and defines the process for reviewing CHIDS' research activities. Members of the Research Council may collaborate with affiliated faculty and student fellows on research projects. They also provide a foundation of expertise for publication opportunities and are actively engaged in disseminating CHIDS research.

Each of CHIDS’ industry members will have a seat on the Research Council for the duration of their membership contract. Other members of the Council will be invited by the director to serve, drawn from CHIDS’ collaborators and other academic institutions. The Research Council is managed by a chair, appointed by the director. The tenure of members and the chair of the Research Council is for three years, renewable by mutual agreement.
