Cross-sector collaboration and entrepreneurial thinking are critical components of business leadership in the 21st century. At the Center for Social Value Creation our students earn these skills through real-world field experiences, an informed curriculum, interaction with thought leaders and social entrepreneurs, and multidisciplinary engagement.
Students engaged with the center come from diverse backgrounds but share a unified commitment to social value creation. Some come from Big Four accounting firms and others from Peace Corps. They have a deep sense of individual responsibility, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a drive to create a better world through business. Students connect with us and each other as Smith Experience social venture consultants, Social Innovation Fellows, and AshokaU Terp Changemakers. They spread social value principles throughout the university community via student clubs like Net Impact and the Emerging Markets Association.
Each year the center employs full-time MBA graduate assistants to support our work, lead projects, represent the center in the student body, and keep a pulse on what’s important to our Smith community.
We have an open door policy and welcome students to come by at any time.
