The Center for Financial Policy at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business and the Mutual Fund Directors Forum are pleased to announce a roundtable on Board Oversight of Valuation to be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013, in the Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center, in Washington, D.C.

The recent settlement between the SEC and Regions Morgan Keegan directors has brought to light several valuation issues, such as using experts to perform valuation activities, providing sufficient guidance for fair valuing securities, and understanding the methodology used for fair valuing. This roundtable will provide information for fund directors to help fulfill their statutory valuation responsibilities. The program will address lessons learned from the RMK settlement, SEC valuation guidance, as well as compliance and oversight issues.
