Welcome to the Office
of Career Management! We are here to
make your job search more productive and
hope to serve as your partner in an
ongoing process of career management and
growth.
Our Office is one of very few
business school career centers to
provide services for both undergraduate
and graduate
populations. We are a full-service
center, meaning we provide programs and
services (such as individual career
counseling and a career class) for our
students, and host employers for
interviews and presentations.
Planning your career is similar to
developing a new product and
strategizing a marketing plan. You will
need to understand the requirements of
the consumer (employer) via corporate
presentations, career management
seminars, career strategies in business
class (BMGT367), job fairs, and good old
fashioned research. Then you determine
what competitive advantage your product
(you) has to offer. Finally, the ability
to market the benefits (proactive job
search) of the product – utilizing
resumes, cover letters, interviews,
networking, career fairs, and the
Internet – is essential.
If you are new to the career
management process, we encourage you to
explore the
Getting Started section of this website. If you
are an Office of Career Management (OCM)
veteran, we hope you’ll continue to take
advantage of all the
services
this office has to offer.
Our partnership is based on mutual
accountability and professionalism. Our
goal is to equip you with the skills and
knowledge necessary for a lifelong
process of self-directed career
management.
