Finding a U.S. Job Just Got Easier
The
Smith Office of Career Management has
retained McCandlish Holton, PC, a leading immigration law
firm, to address the obstacles
preventing employers from hiring the
best and brightest students.
Through the OCM, McCandlish Holton provides all
Smith employers
and students with
complimentary legal consultation to
include answering questions regarding
immigration issues and reinforcing the
seamlessness of the hiring process.
This approach is one of the first of
its kind for a business
school and
provides employers and Smith students
with
the following complimentary
benefits:
- Consultation with employers
regarding all aspects of the
sponsorship process
- Case-by-case visa assessments
- Pre-negotiated legal fees for
H1-B visa processing
- Advice and materials on
immigration issues
Q: What does this mean
for me?
We believe the number one impediment
to hiring international students is
misinformation regarding the sponsorship
process. For the first time, you will be
able to offer prospective employers the
ability to contact one of the country’s
top legal firms for free
up-to-the-minute immigration employment
information. Additionally, you will have
access to information that will clarify
and simplify the immigration process for
employers and students.
By taking perceived obstacles out of the
way and through educating our employers
about the ease of hiring international
students, more employers will be open to
hiring you. Thus, your employment
opportunities and options can come close
to, if not equal to, those of U.S. born
students.
Q: Can I access
McCandlish Holton’s services?
You have complimentary access to
group meetings, conferences and seminars
to answer any immigration-related
questions you may have. Additionally,
written materials addressing these
issues are available to you.
If you missed McCandlish Holton's
live presentation in April, please
contact the OCM to see a copy of this
video.
Q: What should I tell
interested employers?
Just as it is important that the OCM
be able to communicate and demonstrate
the ease of hiring international
students, it is imperative that you be
able to sell yourself and the value of
this new partnership to employers.
- Consultation is complimentary
regarding all aspects of the visa
sponsorship process.
- We’ve done the work for them.
Smith has researched the options and
laid the groundwork for competent
and proven immigration consultation
services. Tapping into this legal
advice requires no work on behalf of
our employers.
- Employers can feel confident in
McCandlish Holton’s legal advice.
McCandlish Holton is a credible expert in
immigration services, having
successfully processed thousands of
work visas and green cards for
employers and employees nationwide.
- Employers now have access to a
significantly increased candidate
pool and can take advantage of all
the benefits associated with hiring
international students (e.g.,
industry expertise, global work
experience, language fluencies,
global network and knowledge of
international markets).
Q: What
companies recruit
international students?
The OCM has developed
a list of companies that
have sponsored
international students
in the past. As a
disclaimer, we must note
that in certain
instances employers can
and do sponsor for some
positions and not
others. This being said,
we encourage you to use
this list as a launching
point to guide your
company research:
