Market Your Organization: Build A Presence
On-campus marketing is integral to finding the best hires for your
business, and offers you the opportunity to build brand awareness for your
organization. There are a number of ways to create a broad presence on
campus. We offer a range of options that will enable you to introduce your
company to Smith students while educating them about the skills you are
seeking and the opportunities you have to offer. We are also open to
ideas that you may have and can certainly help you organize a unique on
campus event.
MBA
Career Fairs
Each year, the Robert H. Smith School of Business, along with the
Washington DC Graduate School MBA Coalition, co-hosts a Masters level career
fair entitled Career Quest.
Career Quest 2008 was attended by over 58 employers and 1,400 MBAs from
the University of Maryland and the following top MBA programs including:
- American University
- University of Maryland
- Drexel University
- George Mason University
- George Washington University
- Georgetown University
- Virginia Commonwealth University
- John Hopkins University
- University of Virginia

Corporate Information Sessions
We welcome you to visit our campus and give a live presentation to our
students. Presentations provide an effective way to introduce your company
to Smith students while educating them about the opportunities you have to
offer.
Corporate information sessions are held Monday through Thursday evenings
from 5:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m., and utilize our state-of-the-art presentation
classrooms. For general guidelines on what students are looking for in your
presentation,

here. Although not required, many employers choose to
host receptions following their presentations. If you are interested in
hosting a reception, please click here for

To schedule a corporate presentation, please contact a staffing
consultant at 301-405-2301. Once you have scheduled your corporate
presentation, please
email us a description of your
presentation to help us advertise your opportunity with the students. Refer
to the recruiting calendars for possible
presentation dates.
Career Resource Center
The Career Resource Center offers a range of resources for students to
utilize in their career searches. We encourage our employers to submit
corporate information in hardcopy or electronic form to be made available to
students as they research your firm. Please allow students ample time to
review your information prior to your scheduled visit.

Partnering With Student Clubs
Student business clubs and groups are an integral part of campus life at
the Smith school. Currently, there are 29 active graduate student clubs at
the school.
In addition to regularly-scheduled meetings throughout the school year,
student clubs organize several career-related events that recruiters are
encouraged to participate in. Events appropriate for employer involvement
include:

Employer of the day
Host your very own exclusive "mini career fair" during a regular school
day to meet students before and after classes. Held in the Atrium of Van
