  Embed a Google Calendar

A course calendar can help organize the class schedules, while the BB calendar tool is almose useless. Repeats aren't allowed, you can't get notifications, auto add holidays... Here is to introduce you how to embed Google Calendar to your course. You can create a calendar just for this course - with no personal data. Google builds in the ability to copy 'embed code' - the HTML connection to that calendar. When you change something on it at google.com, the change will be dynamically reflected on the calendar view in your course.

  1. Create your calendar at http://www.google.com/calendar.

  2. Share your calendar. (This means anyone with a Gmail account (who knows your gmail account name) can add a view of this calendar to their gmail account. They will not be able to change any entries and this permission setting will not affect any personal calendar you might also have. NOTE: without this permission, students will not see your course calendar entries or updates.) From your Google calendar, click the down arrow next to the calendar name and choose "Share this calendar." Check the box next to "Make this calendar public."

  3. Select Calendar Details.

  4. Copy the code displayed in the 'Embed This Calendar' section.
