COMMUNICATION and COLLABORATIONS IN BLACKBOARD
Basic Communication Methods Post Announcements, Sending Emails to students, Setup Discussion Board.
Groups Setup By creating and managing groups in a BB course, students can have Group Discussion Forum, Exchange Files, etc.
Sign-up List This tool allows students to signup to a group or certain office hours. Sometimes instructor can add Group members according to the students signup list.
Podcasting Tool The Wimba's podcaster tool allows instructors to post audio which can then be played back from within Wimba's audio environment or transported outside the environment into a mobile player. 
Wiki Page Wikis make it possible for writers to continually build upon, revise, and edit text on a topic. You can publish your pages for course related topics without knowing html. It needs a configuration first.
Blogs Students can share their ideas or what they learned in the Blog tool. It needs a configuration first.
Course Calendar Instructors can embedding their Google calendar to class with a few steps.
