CREATING AN ONLINE TEST/QUIZ OR SURVEY

KNOWN ISSUE with Timed Exam:

Blackboard allows you to set a time limit for a quiz or online exam. But please note that the system will NOT stop students from taking the exam when the time is up. Instead, it will alert the test taker but then let them continue taking the quiz and submit it.  The instructor can become aware of this when he checks student score, as the system will flag the student entry as having gone above the time limit. But you will have to set a discipline rule and let students know how you will deal with those who go over time.

File Naming Conventions - Important!!   (Naming Files and Gradebook Columns )

When uploading a Microsoft Word or PowerPoint file as an attachment, make sure your file name does not contain special characters (such as = ! , \ " ' # @ ( ) space).  You may get an error message or it may just cause problems with the column.

When you create columns in the Gradebook or ask students to submit digital Assignments, file naming convention is also important to note. Warn your students about it to avoid the potential problem.
