The Robert H. Smith School of Business marketing department has developed an internship program for a select group of students who are interested in gaining experience in the world of marketing research. Students will have the opportunity to support and learn from the Smith School’s accomplished marketing faculty as they work on cutting edge research.

Outlined below are additional details about the intern responsibilities and the application process.

Internship Program

The Internship Program is designed to help students gain exposure to experimental research by helping Marketing department faculty and PhD students with projects. Studies will primarily be conducted in the Netcentric Behavioral Lab facilities in Van Munching Hall, but may also be conducted off site, such as at the Stamp Student Union

Responsibilities may include:

  1. Assist faculty and Ph.D. experimenters with research projects relevant to their marketing studies.
  2. Assist with administering experimental research sessions held at the Netcentric Behavioral Lab.
  3. Help coordinate and conduct supplemental data collection efforts which may take place at the Stamp Student Union or other off-site locations.

Qualifications

Must be a Smith School junior or senior in good standing. The selected candidates will be detail-oriented, have efficient oral and written communication skills, and the ability to interact professionally with students and faculty.  Previous experience conducting survey or experimental research is a plus (but not required).

Hours

Four to Five hours/week (times are flexible) plus attendance at regularly scheduled research meetings.
