Welcome from Dean Howard Frank
On
behalf of the Robert H.
Smith School of Business, I
would like to offer you a
warm welcome to the 2006
AMA-Sheth Foundation
Consortium. The Smith School
considers it a great
privilege to be awarded the
Consortium and I know Gabe
and Roland, the co-chairs,
together with people from
across the nation, are working hard to
make it a success.
The last time the University of Maryland's Business School held the Consortium was in 1981. I know some of you attended that event as Doctoral Fellows. Now, as leading faculty in the Marketing discipline, you offer a new cohort the same opportunity to meet the best in the field at the start of their careers.
For Doctoral Fellows, the Consortium provides you with a forum for making new friends and exchanging ideas. I know from my own experience as an academic, such friendships can form the basis for intellectual growth and development over an entire career. We hope that you will return here in 2030!
If there is anything we can do to make your visit to Smith more enjoyable, please let us know.
I look forward to meeting you at the opening night reception and dinner. Until then, I wish you a safe journey to Maryland.
Howard Frank, PhD
Dean, Robert H. Smith School
