Nile
Webb retired as a partner of
Deloitte & Touche in 1991, and
that year began a long and new
career teaching accounting in an
adjunct capacity at the Smith
School. Nile received his
Bachelor of Science degree from
the University of Maryland in
1958 and joined the audit
function of the Washington
office of Haskins & Sells (now
Deloitte & Touche) He was
admitted to the Firm as a
partner in 1971. While serving
thirty-three years in public
accounting as a staff accountant
and partner he became a
specialist in high technology
industries, satellite
communications, banking, not for
profit organizations,
manufacturing, colleges and
universities, state and local
government units and government
contracting. In 1982 he assumed
the responsibility of
partner-in-charge of the
Washington office Middle Market
Services department (MMS) and in
1987 as the area
partner-in-charge of MMS, which
includes the Baltimore and
Richmond MMS practice and
continued in that responsibility
until his retirement. As a staff
accountant, Nile served on the
Auditing Procedures Committee of
the District of Columbia Society
of CPA's, and as chairman of the
Not-for-Profit Committee. In
1989 he was a member of the
American Institute of Certified
Public Accountants committee on
Not-for-Profits.
