Faculty Profile
Vicki Rymer, has
a long association with the
Smith School. She earned her
bachelors, masters, and
doctorate degrees all from the
University of Maryland. For many
years, she was a full-time
member of the Smith faculty
where where she taught numerous
accounting courses and
coordinated the principles of
accounting classes. Her
specialty is the mergers and
acquisitions area. Dr. Rymer has
been recognized for excellence
in teaching by the University of
Maryland, College Park Parents
Association and the Center for
Teaching Excellence, and has a
research interest centered in
education. Dr. Rymer served as
the faculty advisor to Beta
Alpha Psi and has been honored
by Beta Alpha Psi National for
outstanding contributions to the
fraternity. A licensed CPA in
Maryland, she was appointed by
the governor to serve as the
education member of the State
Board of Public Accountancy. She
has also served as the education
member on the Board of Directors
of the Maryland Association of
CPAs. Professor Rymer is also a
member of the American Institute
of CPAs and the American
Accounting Association. Her
prior work experience was in
industry.
