Ariel Ramirez has provided fraud
investigative and other services
to Fortune 500 companies,
private entities and foreign
governments in North America,
Latin America, Europe, Asia and
the Middle East. Ariel is a
Director of Global Forensic
Audit (Americas), for Siemens
and executing investigations
globally. Prior to his current
role, he served as Director of
Special Investigations for
Siemens Corporation (USA),
responsible for fraud
investigation and training
efforts in North America.
Before joining Siemens he served
in various roles in consulting
and Big4 accounting firms
including: Principal and
National practice leader
responsible for Fraud & Special
Investigations Electronic
Evidence & E-Discovery, Forensic
Accounting, Litigation Support,
and Anti-Fraud Solutions;
National Director, Worldwide
Fraud Services; and as Senior
Consultant, Manager, Senior
Manager and Director at a Big4
firm. Throughout his entire
professional career he
concurrently served the nation
in the armed forces reserves for
over 21 years - first in the
enlisted ranks of the United
States Marine Corps Reserves and
later, as a commissioned Officer
in the United States Navy
Reserves last assigned to the
Pentagon.
Ariel is currently an adjunct
Faculty Professor at the
University of Maryland Smith
School of Business, where he
teaches graduate fraud
investigation and forensic
accounting in the in the Masters
of Science Program. He holds a
BS in Computer Science and MBA
in International Business and
holds the following
certifications: CFE, CIA, CFSA,
CGAP and CCSA. Ariel is
immediate past Chapter President
of the Institute of Internal
Auditors in Northern Virginia
(2007-2008) and on the Board of
Advisors of the Economic Crime
Institute at Utica University.
