Faculty Profile
Peter is a seasoned accountant
with extensive experience in public
accounting and private industry.
Presently, he is the Vice President
and Controller of Pepco Energy
Services, Inc. (PES) where he is
responsible for the corporate and
business unit accounting functions,
internal and external financial
reporting, maintenance of accounting
systems, processes and procedures,
training and development of the
accounting staff, and analyzing the
accounting for complex and
significant business transactions.
At PES, Peter interacts with
internal and external auditors on an
ongoing basis and ensures the
Company is in compliance with the
requirements of the Sarbanes Oxley
Act. Peter directly supports
PES’ Chief Financial Officer on a
variety of projects and initiatives
and interacts with senior officers
of the Company and its parent on a
regular basis.
Prior to joining PES, Peter
worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers
L.L.P. where he provided accounting,
audit and other professional
services to a variety of clients in
several industries including
insurance, investment management,
health care, manufacturing and
professional services.
Peter graduated from Bernard M.
Baruch College in New York City with
a BBA degree in accounting. He
obtained his MBA degree with a
concentration in finance from
University of Maryland College Park,
Maryland. He also has a Master
of Arts degree from Western
Evangelical Seminary, Portland,
Oregon now part of George Fox
University, Newburg, Oregon.
Peter is a member of Financial
Executives International, American
Institute of Certified Public
Accountants, and National
Association of Black Accountants.
Peter volunteers as a Financial
Officer of a local Christian
church.
