Dr. Gordon is an internationally known scholar in the area of managerial accounting. His work focuses on such issues as performance measures, economic aspects of information security, cost management systems, the interface between managerial accounting and information technology, and capital investments. He is the author of more than 85 articles published in such places as The Accounting Review, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, ACM Transactions on Information and System Security, Journal of Computer Security, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Accounting Organizations and Society and Communications of the ACM. He is also the author of several books, including Managerial Accounting: Concepts and Empirical Evidence. In two recent comprehensive studies, Gordon was cited as one of the world's most influential/productive accounting researchers. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy and serves on the editorial boards of several other journals. An award-winning teacher, Professor Gordon has been an invited speaker at numerous universities around the world. In addition, he has served as a consultant to several private and public organizations. Gordon is currently the director of the Ph.D. Program at the Robert H. Smith School of Business.
