Dr. Cowling has several years experience teaching cost/managerial, financial, and advanced accounting.  His research interests include financial accounting and accounting education and he has had numerous academic presentations and publications.  He is a member of the American Accounting Association.  Prior to his academic career Dr. Cowling worked for General Electric as a program planner at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory and for the Ford Motor Company as a financial analyst involved in car pricing in the Lincoln-Mercury Division and as a budget and profit center analyst at Ford Aerospace and Communications Corporation.
