Did you know that alumni giving has a direct impact on Smith School rankings?

As more individual alumni give back, our rankings go up – which keeps the value of your Smith degree high. Gifts of all sizes impact our participation rate, so alumni from all graduation years have a chance to make a real difference for the School.

For the inaugural year of the Smith School Annual Fund campaign, we’ve set forth the following alumni participation and dollar goals:

Smith Undergraduate alumni participation goal: 5%

  • That’s 1,925 undergraduate Smith alumni choosing to give back to Smith between July 1, 2012 and June 30, 2013.
  • Undergraduate alumni: The Maryland Fund for Excellence, the annual giving outreach program for the University as a whole, will contact you on behalf of the Smith School. When you receive this outreach, simply write in “Smith School Annual Fund” in the Designation section of your giving form, or tell the student caller who contacts you that you’d like to give directly to Smith. This helps both the MFE and Smith at the same time!
  • At the midpoint of the fiscal year, we still have work to do to reach our 5% goal. We need 1,594 new undergraduate alumni to make a gift, no matter what size, between now and June 30, 2013 in order to make our goal.

Smith Graduate alumni participation goal: 5%

  • That’s 505 graduate Smith alumni choosing to give back to Smith between July 1, 2012 and June 30, 2013.
  • At the midpoint of the fiscal year, we are almost half way to this 5% goal. We need 293 new graduate alumni to participate between now and June 30, 2013 in order to make our goal.

Total dollars raised goal: $650,000

  • At the midpoint of the fiscal year, we are almost halfway to our dollars raised goal. We need to raise an additional $385,000 between now and June 30, 2013 in order to make our goal.

Check this page quarterly for updates on our progress towards these goals.
