Faculty Profile
Professor Ünal, a senior
fellow at the Wharton Financial
Institutions Center, has
recently been appointed as the
managing editor of the
Journal of Financial Services
Research. His current
research focuses on supply,
demand, and regulation of
financial services.
Specifically, he has conducted
research to answer questions in
risk management, credit-risk
pricing, and the analysis of
incentives and conflicts in bank
ownership changes. His work has
been published in the Journal
of Finance, Journal of Financial
Quantitative Analysis, Journal
of Money Credit and Banking,
Review of Derivatives Research,
and other leading journals. Ünal
has consulted for the World Bank
and the Department of Justice
and held executive programs for
Fannie Mae, Oracle, and Hughes
Network Systems. He received the
business school's Krowe Award
for Teaching Excellence in 1991
and 1999.
